About Us

Who we are..

Brick Kiln Pottery & Creative Space is an open-access pottery studio in Norfolk.

Originally established in 2023, Emma soon outgrew her home pottery studio and struggled to meet the huge demand for creative space and pottery memberships.

Now our new, light-filled, warm studio offers a safe space for creative people to come along to learn and experiment, without any judgement.

We wanted to create a community artistic hub, for like-minded people, to meet new friends and support each other through their projects. We see our space as an opportunity to step out of our stressful lives and unwind with some hands on calming creativity.

Our new equipment provides the best possible start for your new hobby, or to continue your pottery journey. As well as pottery classes, we will be inviting professional artists and creatives to share their skills, by offering workshops throughout the year.

We are delighted to be supported by South Norfolk Council, who saw strength and confidence in our business plan and offered us a Rural Capital Builder Grant.

If you have any questions please do get in touch.

We hope to see you in the studio soon.

Meet the team

  • EMMA

    CEO & FOUNDER

Emma discovered her passion for clay in 2019. She loves the endless possibilities of creating with clay. Emma is our full time tutor for wheel throwing, but also enjoys creating abstract, one-off vessels.

Her career has evolved over the years, but has predominately been in the wellbeing industry. It brings Emma such pleasure to see the healing and calming benefits of working with clay, thus being the desire to bring communities together and provide a safe space for people to be creative at Brick Kiln Pottery.

  • SUSAN

    POTTERY TUTOR & STUDIO TECHNICIAN

I have been working with young people and adults as an artist, educator, and performer all my adult life. I love the Arts and believe that they make us and our society a better place. We are so much richer when we have them in our lives.

I am also a community artist and have worked in a variety of roles. Artist-in Residencies, Artist & Decorator at festivals & carnivals, nationally and abroad. I have worked and run workshops in Ceramics & Art & Design, in my local community for adults and children.

I trained and worked as a lecturer in Art and Design, working in a number of colleges in London, before moving to Norfolk to be closer to family. Lecturing and teaching in colleges and schools here in Norfolk & Suffolk.

I love my work and I am delighted to have been invited to work with Emma. I look forward to developing some exciting and engaging ceramic arts programmes for you to enjoy and to use to develop your practice, in this most wonderful media, clay and creative media. I look forward to meeting you.
